State in Nigeria with highest admitted candidates into Medicine, Engineering, and Law

Medicine, Engineering, and Law are the first three favorite courses for majority of students and that it why these courses have high number of application in JAMB. From the data provided by Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS), some states perform better in the number of admitted candidates to study Medicine, Engineering, and Law through Joint Admission And Matriculation Board (JAMB).

I hereby present the analysis of states with highest admitted candidates into Medicine, Engineering, and Law.

Medicine

This is one of the most competitive courses in Nigeria looking at the number of students that applied for this course in all the University offering medicine in Nigeria. However, some states perform better when compare to the other states by the virtue of the number of students that has been admitted into Medical schools in Nigeria.

The number of female candidates admitted into Medicine is higher than male in Imo, Anambra, Edo, and Osun while the number of male candidates is higher in Enugu and Delta. Furthermore, Imo and Anambra state have the highest candidates admitted into Medicine.

Imo

The number of students from Imo state admitted into medical schools in Nigeria to study medicine from 2010 to 2015 is 1766, 1940, 1841, 2395, 1588, and 1727 respectively.

Anambra

The number of Imo state students admitted into medical schools in Nigeria to study medicine from 2010 to 2015 is 1232, 1536, 1473, 1645, 1511, and 1198 respectively.

Delta

The number of students from Delta state admitted into medical schools in Nigeria to study medicine from 2010 to 2015 is 1256, 1137, 1305, 1618, 1170, and 1814 respectively.

Enugu

The number of students from Enugu state admitted into the University to study Medicine in Nigeria to study medicine from 2010 to 2015 is 1041, 1280, 1247, 1422, 1161, and 1390 respectively.

Edo

The number of students from Edo state admitted into University to study medicine in Nigeria to study medicine from 2010 to 2015 is 1126, 787, 877, 1256, 1019, and 1510 respectively.

Osun

The number of students from Osun state admitted into medical schools in Nigeria to study medicine from 2010 to 2015 is 694, 782, 958, 1089, 1146, and 1447 respectively.

Engineering

The number of candidates admitted into Engineering for the top states are analyzed, Osun and Oyo have the highest number of candidates admitted into Engineering.

Kogi

Ogun

From 2010 to 2015: 2121, 1117, 1081, 1244, 1639, and 1468 respectively

Ondo: 1394, 826, 901, 934, 1281, 1368

Osun

From 2010 to 2015: 2076, 1196, 901, 1478, 2168, and 2326 respectively

Oyo

From 2010 to 2015: 1933, 1076, 1399, 1870, 1647, and 2536 respectively

Law

The number of candidates admitted into Law is from 2010 to 2015 respectively, Delta and Imo have the highest number of candidates admitted into law.
