Fortunately, meeting with her made us be able to have this beautiful interview with her.

As a musician, how were you able to combine your academic pursuit with music?

The grace of God has been sufficient for me ever since this journey started. His grace has been guiding me and ordering my steps in all my life pursuits. I always ensured I limited my musical outing whenever examination was approaching, and I focused during this period. Then after my exam, I picked up my musical career where I kept it, and I swung into full gear.

What were your parents’ views about your engagement in music?

They are very supportive, and most importantly they discovered the talent in me right from my childhood. So it did not come as a surprise when I dabbled into music. My parents even supported me financially in my previous albums.

What is your source of Inspiration?

God is my source of inspiration. He deposited the virtues in me, and I remain perpetually grateful to him.

Who are your mentors both in music and in academics?

In music, I don’t have a mentor, but I always appreciate good songs. Therefore, anytime I hear beautiful songs played at any musical stations. I note down the songs, and I get them for my enjoyment. In the line of academic, my father is my mentor. I respect him so much because of his great intellect and his diverse knowledge of so many things. He loves reading books, and he can speak up to five languages including French.

Since physics is full of mathematical expression and music is more of entertainment, do they relate?

Music and physics may seem different, but in a way, they relate. As you also know that physics is very wide with diverse fields of study. We have so many branches or fields in physics which include Theoretical physics, Atmospheric physics, Condense matter physics, Radiation and health physics, and so on. There is also an aspect of physics that relate to music, which is Acoustic physics.

Acoustics is the branch of physics that deals with the study of sound. It involves the study of the properties of sound waves. How the sound moves through a particular medium, how vibrating materials behaves, how the harmonic series works and also how sound behaves in rooms. How music is organized, classified, recorded and expressed and used in a meaningful way involves electronic manipulation of an acoustic signal. Therefore, music and physics relate.

Are you now dropping physics for music?

Well, both “physics” and “music” are my excellent friend (smile). I am presently not dropping any. Music is my divine calling while physics is my academic career. I cherish both.

Advise to the youths and Upcoming Artists

My advice to the youths and upcoming artists is that they should not relent in all their life pursuit. They should always set goals for themselves, and they should never give up at any point. They should stay focused and be determined and as well make education their priority in whatever engagement they find themselves.
