The wisdom required to live effectively and successfully

Proverb 22 : 13 “The lazy man says, “There is a lion outside! I shall be slain in the street!”

A lazy man sees everything wrong about work. They are never responsible rather they see why something will not work out. They are always finding fault without proffering solutions. They are not risk taker because they always like to play it safe.

If you see any of this appearance in you shake it off because it hinders success.

Successful men have perfect understanding of the dignity in labour, they are responsible and a risk taker. They know when to take calculated risk and when to retract from a “killer” risk. They understand time and season. These attributes reflect people that are always engaging their brain.

There is no place for a lazy man.

Proverb 21 : 5 ” The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty”

There is nothing in this life that doesn’t require a good planning and life requires that you plan your way through for you to succeed. A building without a plan is a building that is not ready for construction. A man that despise planning is a man that is prepared to fail. We shouldn’t be hasty in anything we want to do rather we should plan strategically for it to be successful. The level of your seriousness and commitment to a project can be measured by the kind of plans that you have on ground.

Plan Plan Plan because a plan that is well structured and well followed will definitely lead to success.

Proverb 11 : 29 ” He who troubles his own house will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart”

It is foolishness to destroy what you ought to build. The concept of family is two people coming together to build a strong and successive home. A man or woman that refuses to build his or her home and bring peace it needed is heading for a miserable life.

If you want your life to be peaceful and meaningful invest in your home, give it the needed attention, support its growth and work for its peace.

Whatever you invest in your home is what you will inherit back in multiple folds.

Proverb 29 : 20 ” seeth thou a man that is hasty in is words? there is more hope of a fool than of him”

A man that lacks the capacity to think through whatever he wants to say is likened to a fool. Every words of your mouth must be full of wisdom and seasoned with salt because your words must be a blessing to people. You must always engage your sense of reasoning at the release of every word. Every word utter in a haste is always an empty word, words that lack values and has no significant contributions to people.

You can either heal or destroy with your words, so let your words be full of wisdom and you will be likened to a wise man.

1 Peter 4 : 9 ” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling”

To be hospitable means to be disposed to treat guests and strangers with cordiality and generosity, it can also mean having an open mind.

A man with an open mind or a large mind will always accept people regardless of who they are. They know how to receive any information and aslo how to process it in their mind without being offended.

The more open your mind is the more the level of your wisdom and the more it will be easy for you receive people. This can only be achieved when you broaden your scope of understanding of people and situation.

There is no gain or medal to be hostile!

Proverb 18 : 9 “He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster”

A slothful man is likened to a great waster not just a waster but great one. Slothfulness means laziness: it also means you are unwilling to unleash your strength and your potentials. You prefer it lies fallow within, not minding who it can be of benefit to.

A lazy man doesn’t care if where he is working runs down or they are at the verge of being shut down. The zeal to move his workplace forward is not in him, he doesn’t give a damn about the affairs of his workplace. If he is giving a task to perform, he will not do the job on time  or he will do the job in such a way that someone else will be the one to re-do it.

They lack zeal, passion and they are always indifferent to the success or the growth of wherever they are.

Whenever you feel like being slothful remember that slothfulness leads to wastefulness.

Proverb 27 : 23 – 24 “Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, and attend to your herd; for riches are not forever, nor does a crown endure to all generation”

Stock taking is very important in business; it enables you to know whether you are running at loss or you are gaining. This will enable you to know the next step of action and the strategy to take in order to move your business forward. One of the reasons why some businesses collapse is because they are not diligent enough to know the state of their business. They allow the business to run on autopilot because the business has been showing some level of growth.

Staying on the forefront in business requires you to know the present status of your business and how to improve on it for better growth. There are many competitors out there, you must be prompt to know what will keep you on top among your competitors. You must also take your customers into consideration when taking stocks, their feedback is very important to the continual growth of your business.

Proverb 6 : 23 ” For the commandement is a lamp, and the law a light: reproofs of instruction are the way of life”

The importance of lamp and a light is for illumination. It is not possible to walk through a dark area without having a light to illuminate your path. What light is to us, instruction is to us, it is a guide that navigate us through the darkness of life.

Everything in this life is guided by laws and principles, you will do well if you allow yourself to be instructed by it. One of the greatest mistake one can do is to approach life without following instructions: it is like a student writing an exam without following instruction, such student is bound to fail.

It is wisdom when you seek to know how things work and diligently follow the laws and principles that guides its workings. You are bound to succeed when you give yourself to instruction.

Proverb 3:3 “Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table if thine heart”

Some of the values that is gradually diminishing in our society is truth and mercy. These are gradually becoming a scare commodity in our society. A wise man knows the important of truth and mercy: they are what gives values and meaning to life. These two values must be hold in high esteemed in our society because every family or society that will be great should embrace it. For us to have a society of our dream we must engrave it into our heart.

Any society, family or government established on falsehood and show no care towards his people is bound to collapse.

1 Corinthians 9 :26 ” Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air”

As sweet as success may be there are sacrifices you need to make in other to reach your desire goal. It is a statement of fact that nothing comes easily or by a wishful thinking. It is your delibrate attempt to succeed that matters and you must be proactive with it.

Your approach to life must be with seriousness, being certain of what you want to achieve. You must strategically equip yourself with the right tools needed to achieve your goals. Self discipline and self determination play an important role in getting the work done. No sloopy living for you! You must stay alert and in top condition.

People with this approach to life always have outstanding success because they have discover the key to navigate themselves to success.

Life gets interesting and good when you are on top of your game and everything around you points to the fact that you are a success.

Don’t live a lose life!

Proverb 19 : 18 ” Chasten your son while there is hope, and do not set your heart on his destruction”

They role of parents in the life of their cannot be overemphasis. Parents are the one to nuture, guide, mentor, counsel and encourage their children. They must always see to it that they perform this role to the maximum.

Children are like computer, whatsoever you input into them is what they will output. They will replicate in geometric form whatsoever you use to make them since there is a multiplier in them. It is very important that you lead them aright, influence them positively and always correct them for any mis-step. Whenever you correct them you are directing their heart and their energy to the right track. Never indulge them because indulging them will destroy them.

For you to have maximum rest in life put your children on the right track; morally, academically, socially, spiritually, physically e.t.c

Life becomes meaningful and purposeful when our children are better than us morally, spiritually, academically, socially, physically e.t.c by far.

Your children are your treasure!

Proverb 27:17 “You use steel to sharpen steel, and one friend sharpens another”

It is a common practice that whenever your knife or cutlass is dull, you look for a steel to sharpen it. This is because a dull knife or cutlass can’t get your work done as you will want.

The same process is also applicable to our lives, if your life isn’t heading in a direction that you like look for good friends that are already in your desired direction and connect with them. Sharpen yourself with those that have the values you are looking for. There are different people with different values locate the one that you need and sharpen yourself with his values.

There is a common adage that says” show me your friends and I will tell you the kind of person you are”. The kind of people you surrounds yourself with can predict the direction your life will take. You are the one that knows the course your life must take, so take responsibility for your life and move with those people that will hasten you to achieve your set goals.

Proverb 17: 27 “the one who knows much says little; an understanding person remains calm”

The more understanding you have the more calm you will be. A man that is full of understanding doesn’t argue unnecessarily but rather engage in a meaningful and productive discussion. Try as much as possible to seek for knowledge and most importantly understanding. The difference between a man of understanding and a man that is devoid of understanding is how calm they are in every situation. Their understanding is their guide, it guides them through every circumstances. They are never moved.
Seek for deeper understanding today and you will see how calm you will be in every situation of life.

Ecclesiastes 9:10a “whatsoever your hand findeth to do, do it with thy might”

Whatever is what doing at all is what doing well. It is required of you to put in your best into whatever you are doing, even if you are not been appreciated for it. There is a verse that says “ it is required of every steward to be found doing”, do not allow the present situation or non-recognition to hinder you from putting in your best in whatsoever you are doing.
You discover your inner treasure at the point of doing your best since this requires all your organs and systems participating in that work. You engage your brain more when you are discharging your best, this helps your brain to be more active and more productive, in the process you become a better person. You need your brain functioning at its best for you to move beyond mediocrity to outstanding success.
Don’t despise your little beginning, do your very best on that work and you will see success knocking at your door.

proverb 17 : 22 “A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dies the bones”

If you are observant you will notice anytime your mood is down it affect all the part of your body. It affects your energy and it sometimes can lead to loss of hope. A broken spirit can lead to all manner of sickenesses. You don’t have to allow your spirit to be down beause of what you are passing through rather allow your heart to rejoice and be thankful. The challenges you are passing through is for a moment, all you need is to restrategise and be happy. Joyful heart is an essential commodity for you to be able to plan and to forged ahead in life. Let nothing steal away your joy.

Job 14:7 ” For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease”

Hope is like a fuel in a car, it keeps us going in every situation and challenges that we might find ourselves. Once you hope is intact it is sure that you are going to get to your destination. A man that has lost hope is already a dead man while living because he is no longer with any structure or plan for his life again.

No matter the challenges or that tough situation always remember there is hope. So far you are not giving up you will surely come out better and stronger.

Proverb 17 : 14 ” The beginning of strife is like releasing water; therefore stop contention before a quarrel starts.”

Contention and strife are bad emotional state of mind which is not healthy and can deprive you of establishing a good relationship with people. It is possible to know the beginning of a strife but you may not know its end or the extent of damage it can cost. The best thing to do is to stop it at its appearance to avoid what you may not be able to control.

Run away from anything that can steal your peace.

Ecclesiastes 11:4 “He that observeth the wind shall not sow and he that regardeth the cloud”

Never allow present circumstances to affect you in taking important steps. Now is the time, tomorrow may be detrimental. Never give in to procrastination because of what may look like hindrances.

It is time to act.

Ecclesiastes 10:10 – ” Remember: The duller the ax the harder the work; Use your head: The more brains, the less the muscle” – The message bible

It is a well known fact that your brain must not be excluded in anything you do. Your work becomes easier when you engage your sense of reasoning i.e having a tactical thought before you engage in anything. This will reduce your stress and even avoid wasted effort.

Wisdom is profitable to direct.

Proverb 10:13

You will find wisdom on the lips of a person of insight, but the shortsighted needs a slap in the face.

A person of insight has the capacity to gain an accurate and deep understanding of someone or something.

To be shortsighted is to be narrow minded and parochial in your thinking. A shortsighted person can only see what is within his reach but lack the capacity to see what lies ahead.

Let your mind be open today to ideas, possibilities and opportunities. Also surround yourself with people that has the capacity to see afar and view from virtually all perceptive. You will see yourself blessed by doing so.

Proverb 10:4 ” He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich”

Get up to work because your dignity lies in your work. “Show me a man that is diligent with his business (studies or career)and I will show you a man that is finding his way to the top”

Proverb 6:2 ” You are snared by the words of your mouth; you are taken by the words of your mouth”

Keep watch over what comes out of your mouth and also be skillful in your choice of words.

Parents are expectant. They are patiently waiting for a time their children will put a smile on their faces. The best gift you can give to them is success. Their inner desire is for you to make them proud. The energy and the smile that comes from that is my son! or that is my daughter!” are unfathomable. It runs through their innermost being with a sense of fulfillment. Depriving them of it is like killing them while they are still alive.
