Universities Offering International Relations & International Studies

International Relations and International Studies are often used interchangeably but there is a small difference between the two.

International Relations are more dependent on foreign policy and power study analysis, whereas International Studies include subjects like economics, soft power politics, environmental studies etc.

JAMB subject Combination

History/Government and any other two (2) subjects from Arts and Social Sciences.

O’level requirements (WAEC): Five (5) SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Geography, Government/History

Special Consideration

(i) AAU requires ‘O’ levelcredit pass in History and ‘O’ level pass in Science subjects.

(ii) AAUA requires ‘O’ level credit passes in History or Government, English Language, Mathematics and any two (2) subjects from the Arts or Social Sciences.

(iii) AUE and EBSU require ‘O’ level credit pass in Mathematics

(iv) BIU requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Government/History, another Arts subject and any other two (2)Arts or Social Sciences subjects

(v) BOWEN and AJAYI require ‘O’ level credit passes which must include English Language, History or Government, and any other three (3) subjects in Arts or Social Sciences. Geography is not compulsory.

(vi) KSU and DELSU ‘O’ level credit pass in Geography is not compulsory but accept any three (3) other Arts or Social Science subjects.

(vii) PLASU and JOS ‘O’ level credit pass in Geography is not compulsory.

(viii) JABU requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in Government or History and any other Arts or Social Science subjects including ‘O’ level pass in Mathematics

(ix) UNILORIN require five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, History/Government. plus any other three (3)Arts or Social Science subjects.
