As a way of simplifying its admission process, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that all admission offered by all accredited institutions in Nigeria can only be accepted or rejected through the following
- USSD code 55019 and 66019
- Use your biometrics at any accredited CBT centre or JAMB Office (this will enable you to accept an admission offer with your fingerprint; course change inclusive)
Before this announcement, candidates were familiar with using the JAMB CAPS portal to accept or reject admission. This method allows a candidate to visit their dashboard on the portal and navigate to where to make decisions as regards their admission offer.
With this new method, once your institution has notified you of an admission offer through JAMB, you can use your phone to send your decisions to 55019 0r 66019 or you walk to any accredited CBT centre to use your fingerprint to accept/reject the offer.
According to JAMB, the newly crafted methods of making admission decisions aim to protect the details of the candidates and uphold the sanctity of the admission process.
