LASU Produced 153 First Class During 27th Convocation

During the 27th Convocation of the Lagos State University, the Vice-Chancellor announced that 153 students graduated with first-class degrees out of the 8,670 for first-degree programmes in the university, which represents 1.7% of the graduands. Also, 3,029 graduated with second-class upper division, 715 graduated with second-class lower division, 228 graduated with a pass, and 195 graduated with non-classified degrees.

Out of the 153 students who graduated with first class, Olaniyi Mubaraq Olawale emerged as the best-graduating student from the Department of Accounting Education with a CGPA of 4.98. He is from Osun state and is known to be an orator. The vice-chancellor called this feat peerless.

It was also noted that out of the 2,164 postgraduate students graduating, the school has 375 received Postgraduate Diplomas, 962 earned Academic Masters, 672 obtained Professional Masters, 89 achieved Doctor of Philosophy degrees, and 66 received Professional Doctoral Degrees. In the Masters’ category, Olaitan Aminat Damilola, with a CGPA of 4.78 in Educational Management, is the best-graduating student for 2022/2023. In addition to the 89 doctorate recipients, we will confer Honorary Doctorate degrees on two eminent Nigerians for their invaluable contributions to the development of our university and the nation at large.

Also, out of 554 diploma students who graduated, there are 55 distinctions, 274 upper credits, 224 Lower credits, and 1 pass.
