Courses Offered at UDUS and Requirements For Admission
This article provides candidates with a list of courses offered at UDUS or UDUSOK (Usman Danfodio University Sokoto) and their admission requirements. The courses and requirements are grouped based on faculties in the school.
UDUS has three campuses, they are:
The main campus: This is where faculties of Agriculture, Arts & Languages, Education, Engineering, Law, Sciences, and Social sciences are.
The annex campus: This hosts the Veterinary Teaching Hospital with faculty of Veterinary Medicine and its teaching hospital, the Centre for Islamic Studies, and the school of remedial program,
A third campus: This is where the university’s teaching hospital, college of Health sciences, Cibiyar Nazarin Hausa, the department of Extention Services, a few services units and three Halls of Residence for students’ accomodation.

Admission Requirements
To gain admission into Usman Danfodio University Sokoto, you must meet the cut off mark of the school. Different programmes on the school has different minimum mark must must score in JAMB UTME.
Sciences
1. Biochemistry
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics and Biology.
UTME subject: Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.
Direct entry: UDU accept ND/HND with at least lower credit plus four ‘O’ level credit passes in relevant subjects
2. Physics
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other Science
UTME subject: Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or Biology.
Direct entry: UDU accepts National Diploma at credit level in relevant field plus O’ level credit in Physics, Mathematics
3. Chemistry & Applied Chemistry
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
UTME subject: Chemistry and two of Physics, Biology and Mathematics.
Direct entry: UDU accept NCE with Chemistry major.
4. Geology
O level result: English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and any other subject.
UTME subject: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology and Geography
5. Statistics
UTME subject: UDU accepts Mathematics and any Two of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography and Economics
O level result: Mathematics and at least three subjects from Physics, Statistics, Chemistry, Further Mathematics, Economics and Geography.
6. Botany
O level result: Five SSCE Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. However, UDU accept pass in Mathematics and English Language.
UTME subject: Biology, Chemistry and any other Science subject.
Direct entry: UDU accept ND/HND in relevant fields.
7. Zoology
O level result: Five SSCE Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
UTME subject: Biology, Chemistry and any other Science subject.
Direct entry: UDU accept ND/HND in relevant fields.
8. Mathematics
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry.
UTME subject: Mathematics and any two of Physics, Chemistry and Economics or Geography.
Direct entry: UDU accept ND (credit in Computer Science or any other Mathematics base subject)
9. Microbiology
UTME subject: Biology, Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics. But UDU accept Agric Science in lieu of Biology.
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics
Direct entry: UDU accept lower credit in addition to ‘O’ level credit pass in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and other science subjects.
10. Computer science
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Physics plus two other science subjects.
UTME subject: Mathematics, Physics and one of Biology, Chemistry, Agric Science, Economics and Geography.
Direct entry: UDU accept ND in Computer Science or other mathematically based disciplines with Upper Credit level.
11. Biology
UTME subject: Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Biology, Chemistry and Maths/Physics
MEDICAL/PHARMACEUTICAL/HEALTH SCIENCES
1. Medical laboratory science
UTME subject: Physics, Chemistry and Biology
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
2. Nursing
UTME subject: Physics, Chemistry and Biology
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
3. Medicine and Surgery
UTME subject: Physics, Chemistry and Biology. But UDU accept mathematics in lieu of Physics.
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Direct entry: ‘A’ level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Zoology in addition to UTME requirements. But UDU accept ‘A’ level pass in Mathematics in lieu of Physics.
4. Pharmacy
UTME subject: Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
5. Radiography
UTME subject: Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology
6. Veterinary Medicine
O level result: Five O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. UDU accepts Agric. Science and Health Science.
UTME subject: Physics, Chemistry and Biology. UDU accept Physics or Mathematics.
Direct entry: UDUS accept ND/HND in relevant fields plus ‘O’ level credits passes in Chemistry and Biology and O/L passes in Mathematics and Physics.
Recommended: UDUSOK Matric Programme
LAW
Common and Islamic law
O level result: Five ‘O’ level credit passes in Arts or Social Sciences to include English Language and Islamic Studies or Arabic.
UTME subject: Any three Arts or Social Science subjects including Arabic or Islamic Studies. But UDU requires Arabic .
SOCIAL SCIENCES
1. Economics
O level result: Mathematics, Economics and any two of Arts or Social Science subjects.
UTME subject: any of Government, History, Geography, Lit-in-English, French and CRK/IRK
Direct entry: UDU accepts ND (upper credit). UDU accept National Diploma not below credit level in Business Studies and Statistics
2. Geography
UTME subject: Geography and two other Arts or Social Science subjects
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Geography, and any three from Arts or Social Science subjects with at least a pass in Mathematics.
Direct entry: UDU accepts NCE (merit level) in Geography and ND (at least lower credit level) in Town Planning, Surveying, environmental Management or Tropical Science plus at least 4 ‘O’ level credits including English and at least a pass in Mathematics.
3. Political science
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes in Government or History, English Language and three other subjects. At least a pass in Mathematics is required.
UTME subject: Government or History plus two other Social Science/Arts subjects.
4. Sociology
UTME subject: Three Social Science or Arts subjects.
O level result: Five SSCE credit passes in Government or History, English Language and three other subjects. At least a pass in Mathematics is required
Direct entry: UDUS accepts National Diploma in Mass Communication with credit level pass and NCE (Social Studies).
