Applications are invited from the general public for admission into the UBTH School of Post Basic Nursing Studies, Benin City for the 2018/2019 academic session in the following courses;

Duration of course: one (1) year

Entry qualifications: Applicants should:
a. Possess five (5) credits in not more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO/SSCE/GCE/OL which must include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
b. Be a qualified Nurse duly registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
c. Have at least one-year Post registration, clinical experience in the relevant area and with sponsorship by an institution or agency.

Request for Admission Form should be directed to the office of the Assistant Director, Post Basic Nursing Studies, UBTH, Benin City, on payment of the prescribed application fee of N10, 000.00 or its equivalent in Dollars or Pounds for foreign applicants.

NOTE:
All payments for application form should be made directly into Federal Government Remita Account, Training Schools (UBTH) School of Post Basic Nursing Studies.
Sales of forms commences 1st March and closes 22nd June, 2018.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM
Completed application forms should be submitted to the Institution on or before 26th June, 2018.
While entrance examination for all Programmes is Monday 2nd July, 2018 at 8.30am, then oral interview is Tuesday 3rd – Friday 6th July, 2018 at 8.30am each day. Please come with original copies of your credentials.

Admission Requirements

(Ai) COMMUNITY HEALTH EXTENSION WORKERS (CHEW) COURSE
Prospective candidates should possess five (5) credits at WASC, NECO, or GCE ‘O’ Level at not more than two (2) sittings. The five credit must be in the following subject; Biology, English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics .
Retrainee JCHEW: Prospective candidates must be holders of JCHEW certificate with at least two (2) years of post qualification in addition to (Ai) above.
(Aii) JUNIOR COMMUNITY HEALTH EXTENSION WORKERS (JCHEW)
Prospective candidates must possess three (3) credits WASC, NECO, SSSC, or GCE ‘O’ level examination at not more than two (2) sittings. The three (3) credits must include: English Language, Biology, Mathematics and any other two passes which include (i) an one of Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Food and Nutrition, and anyone (1) of Economic, Agricultural Science, Accountants or Commerce.
(Bi) DISPENSING OPTICIANRY COURSE
Prospective candidates should possess four (4) credit passes in WASC, SSCE, NECO or GCE ‘O’ level examinations. The four (4) credits and one (1) should be in the following subjects, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and English Language.
(Ci) ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNOLOGY (ND)
Prospective candidates should possess five credits passes in WASC, SSCE, NECO, or GCE ‘O’ level examinations at not more than two (2) sittings or its equivalent as may be approved by EHORECON or WAHEB. The subjects must include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
(Cii) ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNOLOGY (HND)
Prospective candidates must possess National Diploma (ND) in Environmental Health Technology with evidence of completion of one (1) year relevant work experience (Industrial Training) in addition to Ci above.
(Ciii) ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN
Prospective candidates should possess three (3) credits and two (2) passes in WAEC, NECO, and GCE ‘O’ level or Teacher (TC II) certificates at not more than two (2) sittings. The three (3) credits and two (2) passes must include the following subjects: English Language, Biology/Health Science. Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing and any other subjects.
Mathematics would be an advantage.
Note: For the purpose of this course science subjects are: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Science and Health Science.
Note: Combined results for Gi – Gii must be from the same examination body. i.e SSCE and SSCE or NECO and NECO.
(Di) HEALTH EDUCATION TECHNICIAN
Prospective candidates should possess four credit passes in WASC, SSSC, and GCE ‘O’ level or NECO examinations. This credit passes should include Mathematics, English Language, Biology or Health Science and any one (1) of the following subjects: Chemistry, Economics or Geography at not more than two (2) sittings.
(Dii) HEALTH EDUCATION (ND)
Prospective candidate should possess five (5) credits in WASC, SSCE or GCE O’ Level or NECO examinations. This credit should include Mathematics, English Language, Biology/Health Science, Chemistry and Physics.
(Ei) HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT TECHNICIAN
Prospective candidates must possess five (5) credit passes in WASC, SSCE, GCE ‘O’ level, NECO or NABTEB examination or its equivalent, which must include credit in English Language, Biology/Health Science, Chemistry/Physics, Mathematics and any one other subject at not more than two (2) sittings.
(Eii) HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (ND)
Prospective candidates must possess five (5) credit passes in WASC, SSCE, GCE O’level, NECO or NABTEB examination or its equivalent which must include English Language, Biology, Chemistry/Physics, Mathematics and any other one subject at not more than two sittings.

(Eii) HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (HND)
a) Prospective candidates must possess National Diploma (ND) in H.I.M with minimum Lower Credit or Professional Diploma in H.I.M by HRORBN, with evidence of completion of one (1) year relevant work experience in an accredited health institution approved by the Board, b) Candidates with a pass (GPA 2.00 – 2.49) at the ND level with two (2) or more year post ND cognate work experience may be considered for admission into the HND programme.
c) In addition to Eii above.
(Fi) NUTRITION AND DIETETICS (ND)
Prospective candidates should possess four (4) credits passes in WASC, SSSC and GCE ‘O’ level or NECO examination at not more than two sittings. The subject must include: Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science and any other two (2) of the following: Mathematics, Food and Nutrition, Physics, Economics/Commerce, Health Science, Home Management, English Language, Basic Catering ad Food Services.
At least passes in English Language and Mathematics are compulsory.
(Fii) NUTRITION AND DIETETICS (HND)
Prospective candidates should possess the requirement for Fi above, a minimum of Lower Credit (CGPA 2.50 and above) in the cognate ND examination and a minimum of one year cognate work experience. In exceptional cases, ND Diploma with (CGPA OF 2.49) in the ND examination that had two or more years of cognate experience in the specific field may be considered for admission into the HND programme in Nutrition & Dietetics.
Gi) MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Prospective candidates must possess five (5) credit at not more than two (2) sittings in WASC, SSCE, GCE ‘O’ level, NECO or NABTEB examinations. The subject must include credits in Biology, Chemistry, English Language, Mathematics at not more than two (2) sittings.
(Gii) Retrainee MLA : Prospective candidates must possess Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate with two (2) years post qualification in addition to Gi above.
(Giii) OND (in SLT): Candidates with OND in SLT in addition to the requirements in Gi above may be considered for admission into the 200 level of the programme.
Candidates for Medical Laboratory Technician/Assistant: Whose SSCE, NECO or its equivalent qualifications are more than five years by 2018 are not eligible for admission
(Hi) PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING

• Prospective candidates must possess five (5) credit passes which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry subjects in WASC, SSCE, GCE ‘O’ level or NECO examinations at not more than two (2) sittings plus either b, c or d below.
• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Registered Midwife (RM) Certificate or any other basic nursing certificate e.g Psychiatric Nursing certificate plus one year post qualification.
• BNSC candidate from Universities accredited by NUC, NMCN and WAHEB.

(Hii) HEALTH TECHNICIAN
a) Prospective candidates must possess five (5) credits which must include: English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any other two (2) Credits in WASC, SSCE, GCE or NECO examination at not more than two (2) sittings.
(Hiii) HEALTH ASSISTANT

The management of the College of Health Technology Calabar invites applications for all its programmes for the 2024/2025 academic session. Applicants will be subjected to an Entrance Examination at the College compound.

Candidates are therefore strongly advised to check the College website regarding the exact dates for their test. Candidates coming in through JAMB are exempted from writing CBT but will be invited for an interview. Candidates are encouraged to visit the E.U. Prime Cafe for regular updates as well as portal related issues.

To access the online application form candidates should follow the steps below

• Go online to http//portal.chtcalabar.edu.ng/prospective _student
• Follow registration process and get payment invoice
• Take payment invoice to any branch of First Bank Nigeria pay the sum of N15,000
• Return to portal to complete Registration process

Candidates are strongly advised to view the entry requirements before proceeding to apply.

Note: The college of Health Technology Calabar application process runs for about three months after which an entrance aptitude test is written sometime in June. Candidates applying for admission into NBTE courses are exempted from writing the entrance exam. Successful candidates at the entrance exam then proceed to the next stage which is a written interview and inspection of credentials. Candidates who pass the interview are then offered admission into the college. Also, candidates applying for admission into NBTE courses who meet the JAMB cut off mark are also offered admission. It is important to note that candidates coming into the college through JAMB can apply for admission up till September.

The management of Sacred Heart Hospital has released the details on the admission process into its college of nursing programme for the 2024/2024 academic session is out. So, interested candidates can now purchase the form and the details on how to go about it are discussed below.

Admission Requirements

Prospective candidates must possess the Senior Secondary School Certificate (eg. WAEC or NECO, or NABTEB) with at least FIVE credits including English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at not more than two sittings.

• Change of Institution to Sacred Heart College of Nursing Sciences, Lantoro, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
• Need to achieve a total grade of 180 and above in 2024 JAMB.
• Must be 17 and above

Interested applicants for 2024 Admission into the College of Nursing should make a payment of Twenty Thousand Naira Only (#20,000.00).

General Admission requirements for Nursing

In order to gain admission into any University to study nursing, you must have at least five (5) Credits at ‘O’ Level in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. This must not be more than two (2) sittings.

Jamb subject combination for Nursing: English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics.

Also one of the important admission requirements is that you must score at least 200 in JAMB.

School fees are not static. They are subjects to review. Therefore, I may not be able to give you an accurate fee, but you can get that from the school.
