Plateau State University Courses And Admission Requirements

Plateau State University is one of the schools in the North Central Region of Nigeria that attract students due to the high quality of education they offer.

Because of the quality of education in PLASU, I will help candidates who are seeking admission into the school on the list of courses offered in the school and the admission requirements for each of the course.

Plateau State University courses are seventeen (17) in total and are grouped under four faculties – Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Social Sciences, and Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences.

Admission Requirements for Plateau State University

To gain admission into PLASU, you must

• Sit for UTME (sitting for the correct subject
  combination)
• Meet PLASU cut of mark (the minimum score has
  always been between 150 and 170). However, I will advise that you score at
  least 180 for you to be offered admission
• Have five SSCE result
• Pass PLASU 
  Post UTME

PLASU only accept candidates who chose the school as first choice in JAMB UTME.

SSCE Requirements

NOTE: Faculty of Arts accept Pass in Mathematics. The courses under faculty of Art include B.A English Language, B.A Theater Arts, and B.A History and International Studies

B.Sc. Accounting

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) including English language, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce and any other two (2) relevant subjects.

B.Sc. Management Studies

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) including English language, Mathematics, Economics or Commerce and any other two (2) relevant subjects.

B.A English Language

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) to include Literature in English, English Language and three other Arts or Social science subjects.

B.A Theater Arts

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) to include Literature in English, English Language and three other Arts or Social science subject.

B.A History and International Studies

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) to include English Literature, Government or any History and three other Arts or Social science subject.

B.Sc. Political Science

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) in Mathematics,  English Literature, Government or History, and two (2) other Arts or Social Science subject

B.Sc. Psychology

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) in Mathematics, English Language, Biology, and two (2) other Arts or Social Science subject   

B.Sc. Sociology

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) in Mathematics, English Language, and three (3) other Arts or Social Science subject

B.Sc. Economics

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) in Mathematics, English Language, Economics and two (2) other Arts or Social Science subject              

B.Sc. Mass Communication

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) in Literature in English, English Language, and three (3) other Arts or Social Science subject

B.Sc. Mathematics

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) in Mathematics, English Language, Physics or Chemistry and any other two (2) other Science subject

B.Sc. Computer Science

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) in Mathematics, English Language, Physics plus two (2) other Science subject

B.Sc. Physics

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) in Mathematics,  English Language, Physics, Chemistry and any other one (1) other Science subject

B.Sc. Chemistry

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology

B.Sc. Biochemistry

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology

B.Sc. Microbiology

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) in Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology               

B.Sc. Geography

Five SSCE credit passes (at not more than two sitting) in Mathematics, English Language, Geography and any other two (2) Science subjects.
