Courses and Requirements
DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING
- HND IN PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING
Duration: 2 years (Four semesters), except candidates with BNSc (one year – two semesters)
- WASCE/NECO/SSCE 5Credit passes in Eng. Lang., Mathematics ,Biology, Physics, and Chemistry at not more than two sittings PLUS either ii, iii or iv below:
- Registered Nursing (RN) certificate.
- BNSc candidates from Universities accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC), the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria .
- BNSc candidates from Universities outside Nigeria with evidence of verification of certificates and license by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
- DIPLOMA FOR HEALTH TECHNICIANS (DIRECT ENTRY)
Duration: 3 years (Six Semesters)
- O’Level Credit passes in WASCE or NECO in four subjects including English language, Mathematics, Biology and any other Science subject in not more than two sittings.
C. DIPLOMA FOR HEALTH TECHNICIANS
Duration: 2 years (Four Semesters)
- Academically qualified Health Assistant who has a minimum of two years working experience with 4 Credit passes O/L in WASCE or NECO Exam, which includes English language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science and any Social Science subject.
D. CERTIFICATE FOR HEALTH ASSISTANTS
Duration: 2 years (Four Semesters)
(Location of Training is Satellite Campus, Okeho, Kajola Local Govt, Oyo State)
- 5 O’Level Credit passes in WASCE or NECO Examination which must include English language, Biology/Health Science and any other two subjects.
Candidates with lower qualifications but with working experience in the health sector may be considered.
2. DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
A. DIPLOMA IN HEALTH PROMOTION AND EDUCATION
Duration: 2 years (Four Semesters)
(Location of Training is Satellite Campus, Okeho)
- 4 credit passes in GCE, SSCE, NECO or Grade II, to include English Language, Mathematics, Biology/Health Science and any one(1) subject.
B. DIPLOMA FOR ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIANS
Duration: 3 years (Six Semesters)
(Location of Training is Satellite Campus, Okeho)
- 4 credit passes in GCE/WASCE or NECO in English Language, Biology/Health Science and any two of the followings: Mathematics, Geography, Physics, Chemistry and Agric Science, and ordinary pass in any other subject.
- Holders of Certificate for Environmental Health Assistant (EHA), Dental Surgery Assistants, JCHEW and any other related programmes with two years’ post qualification experience can also apply to be admitted into 200 level provided they fulfill the entry requirement in (i) above.
C. NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNOLOGY
Duration: 2 years (Four Semesters)
- 5 Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
- Admission is through JAMB UTME
D. DIPLOMA IN HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT
Duration: 2 years (Four Semesters)
- 5 Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any other two subjects from Economics, Biology or Chemistry.
E. NABTEB CERTIFICATE IN CATERING CRAFT PRACTICE
Duration: 1 year (Two Semesters)
- O’Level Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
F. WAHEB CERTIFICATE IN FOOD HYGIENE
Duration: 1 Year (Two Semesters)
- NABTEB Certificate with Catering Craft option.
G. DIPLOMA IN FOOD HYGIENE
Duration: 1 Year (Two Semesters)
- WAHEB Certificate in Food Hygiene.
3. DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH
A. DIPLOMA IN COMMUNITY HEALTH (CHEW)
Duration: 2 Years (Four Semesters)
- WASCE, SSCE, NECO or GCE O/L with (5) credits at more than two sittings, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Duration : 3 years (Six Semesters)
- Junior Community Extension Workers with 2 years post qualification experience in addition to the above requirement mentioned, and applicant MUST be registered with the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) and possess a valid practice license.
B. CERTIFICATE IN COMMUNITY HEALTH (JCHEW)
Duration: 2 years (Four Semesters)
- 5 credit passes in WASCE or NECO Examination in English, Mathematics, Biology and any other two subjects at not more than two sittings.
4. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
A. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA IN HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
Duration: 3 years (Six Semesters)
- 5 credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Chemistry or Physics and any other subject at not more than two sittings.
B. NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
Duration: 2 years (Four Semesters)
- 5credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in GCE, SSCE, or NECO.
- Admission is through JAMB UTME.
5. DEPARTMENT OF PHARMACY TECHNICIANS’ TRAINING
CERTIFICATE FOR PHARMACY TECHNICIANS
Duration: 3 years (Six Semesters)
- 5 credit passes in English Lang., Mathematics, Biology ,Physics and Chemistry in any of GCE, SSCE, WAEC OR NECO in not more than 2 sittings.
6. DEPARTMENT OF ORAL HEALTH SCIENCE
A. PROFESSIONAL DIPLOMA FOR DENTAL SURGERY TECHNICIANS
Duration: 3 years (Six Semesters)
- 5 O/L credit passes in Biology, Mathematics, English Lang., Physics and Chemistry in not more than 2 sittings.
B. NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN DENTAL THERAPY
Duration : 2 years (Four Semesters)
- 5 credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry in GCE, SSCE, or NECO.
- Admission is through JAMB UTME.
C. NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN DENTAL NURSING
Duration: 2 years (Four Semesters)
- 5 credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry in GCE, SSCE, or NECO.

7. DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCES
CERTIFICATE FOR MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIANS
Duration: 3 years (Six Semesters)
- 5 O/L credit passes (NECO or WAEC) in English Lang., Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry at not more than 2 sittings.
8. DEPARTMENT OF NUTRITION AND DIETETICS
NATIONAL DIPLOMA IN NUTRITION AND DIETETICS
Duration : 2 years (Four Semesters)
- 5 credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry in GCE, SSCE, or NECO.
- Admission is through JAMB UTME.
9. DEPARTMENT OF COMPLEMENTARY HEALTH SCIENCES
- (NATURAL/ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE)
DIPLOMA IN COMPLEMENTARY HEALTH SCIENCES
Duration: 2 years (Four Semesters)

- 5 O/L credit passes in English Lang, Mathematics, Biology or Health Science, Physics, Chemistry and a minimum pass in Yoruba Lang at not more than 2 sittings in GCE/SSCE, NECO OR WAEC.
10. DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSING/X-RAY TECHNICIANS
DIPLOMA FOR MEDICAL IMAGE PROCESSING/X-RAY TECHNICIANS
Duration: 3 years (Six Semesters)
- 5 O/L credit at not more than two (2) sittings in GCE/SSCE, NECO OR WAEC in English Lang, Mathematics, Health Science, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
