When Is WAEC Result 2023 Coming Out

WAEC result release date for 2023 will be revealed in this article. I know many candidates who wrote the 2023/2024 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) are interested in knowing when WAEC result is coming out.

Latest Update: WAEC result is out. The result came out today 7th August 2023.

Most of the candidates are always in anticipation on when the result will be out, announced officially, and release by the council. And the good news is that, WAEC has revealed when the result will be made available to the public. So don’t panic!

According to the information available to us, WASSCE result for school candidates will be ready in 45 days’ time after the conclusion of the examination. The last paper was written on Friday 23rd June 2023, by implication the result should come out by 7th August 2023 – going by the 45 days interval. The good news is that the result will be out on the 9th August and the council will make a press release by 12:00 noon.

In addition, it is official that WAEC marking will start on the 13th of July – from the available information, Team Leader’s coordination for WAEC marking starts 12th July while Assistant Examiner’s coordination start 13th July. All examiners are expected to submit the marked booklets two weeks after the commencement date. So, this implies that the board will have the marked scripts by 27th of July. Processing and other verification will take another another two weeks. From this calculation, by August 7th 2023, the WAEC result will be released.

The council’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr Damianus Ojijeogu, disclosed the day the result will be released to Tribune Online in an exclusive interview over the weekend. Ojijeogu said WAEC in recent years has ensured that the school-based examination results are released within 45 days after the conclusion of the exam.

He further reiterated the stand of the council towards adhering to its standard practice of releasing the results with the 45-day time frame after the conclusion of the last paper.

The examination, which commenced on 8th May will end on Friday 23rd June nationwide and in other four West African member countries of WAEC, namely: Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Gambia.
