I know many candidates who wrote the 2025/2026 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) are interested in knowing when the WAEC result is coming out. The feelings after you have completed the examination can be so disturbing. I know some of you rely on it so much because without it you might not gain admission this year, and you are eager to enter that school of your choice.
Most of the candidates are always in anticipation of when the result will be announced officially, and released by the council. The good news is that WAEC has revealed when the result will be made available to the public. So don’t panic!
According to the information available to us, WASSCE results for school candidates will be ready 45 days after the conclusion of the examination. The last paper was written on Friday, June 20, 2025, by implication the result should come out by 4th August 2025 – going by the 45-day interval. However, this does not mean, the likely date is 100 percent sure, as there can be +/- variation in it. The meaning is that starting from 4th – 11th of August your results might come out all things being equal.
In addition, WAEC marking will officially start in July – from the available information, the Team Leader’s coordination for WAEC marking starts in July while the Assistant Examiner’s coordination starts a day after. All examiners are expected to submit the marked booklets two weeks after the commencement date. So, this implies that the board will have the marked scripts by the end of July. Processing and other verification will take another two weeks.

The council’s Head of Public Affairs, Mr Damianus Ojijeogu, disclosed the day the result will be released to Tribune Online in an exclusive interview over the weekend. Ojijeogu said WAEC in recent years has ensured that the school-based examination results are released within 45 days after the conclusion of the exam.
He further reiterated the stand of the council towards adhering to its standard practice of releasing the results within a 45-day time frame after the conclusion of the last paper.
