JAMB Bans NABTEB A Level Result For Direct Entry Admission

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Examinations have announced that the National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB) A’level results will no longer be accepted as a requirement for direct entry admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

This announcement was made by the JAMB’s registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede on Thursday, July 21, during the 2022 policy meeting which was held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

Professor Oloyede stated that the directive is from the minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu and it takes effect from the year 2022. However, those who have already obtained NNABTEB A’level results before this date will be able to use them for direct entry admission.

The A’ Level Nabteb stands for Advanced Level Nabteb, and the primary purpose of this exam is to give students who wish to gain admission into the Nigerian University of their choice but have not been able to do so through JAMB UTME.

The NABTEB Advanced Level Programme is a National examination equivalent to IJMB, JUPEB, and CAMBRIDGE A’level. NABTEB A’LEVEL, like any other Advanced Level examination, allows students to gain admission into 200 Level in some Nigerian universities through Direct Entry. NABTEB Advanced Level Examinations include Advanced National Business Certificate (ANBC) and Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANTC).
