CLE Releases Updated List Of Universities In Nigeria Approved For Laws Programme

In their latest release, the Council of Legal Education has updated the list of approved universities in Nigeria that can admit students into the Bachelor of Laws program. This implies that any student admitted to any school other than the approved school would have his/her certificate unrecognized and not be eligible for admission to the Nigerian Law school.
The statement by the council is written below:
The Council of Legal Education hereby informs the general public, prospective students, parents, guardians, and other stakeholders that only universities accredited by the Council of Legal Education are authorized to admit students into the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) program in Nigeria.
The public is further informed that any university that admits students to a Law program without the Council of Legal Education’s approval is acting contrary to the provisions regulating legal education in Nigeria and will be subject to appropriate sanctions in accordance with extant regulations and policy.
Furthermore, students admitted to Law programs at universities that are not accredited by the Council of Legal Education will not be eligible for admission to the Nigerian Law School.
For the guidance of the public, the Council of Legal Education hereby publishes the official list of universities approved to admit students to the LL.B program in Nigeria, as set out in the attached PDF.
The Council will continue to update the list as necessary in line with its statutory mandate to regulate legal education in Nigeria.
