Webometrics Ranked Polytechnics In Nigeria For 2024

Webometric recently released the top ranking for all institutions in Nigeria, and I extracted the best Polytechnics in Nigeria for the 2024 ranking from the list.

Four ranking factors were used: openness rank, impact rank, presence rank, and excellence rank. These factors determine which Polytechnic tops the table out of all Polytechnics in Nigeria.

According to July 2024 webometric latest ranking, the best polytechnic in Nigeria is Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) followed by Federal Polytechnic Ilaro which came second, and Lagos State Polytechnic which came third. Temple Gate Polytechnic came last in the ranking—fifty Polytechnics featured in the recent ranking of all the institutions in Nigeria.

Yabatech surfacing as the best polytechnic implies that the quality of published research works from the school is high when compared to other Polytechnics, i.e., the school research output and informal scholarly communication are high.
