Webometric recently released the top ranking for all institutions in Nigeria in which I was able to extract best Polytechnics in Nigeria for the 2023 ranking from the list.

Four ranking factor were used which include openness rank, impact rank, presence rank, and excellence rank. These are the factors which determine which Polytechnic tops the table out of all Polytechnics in Nigeria.

According to January 2023 webometric latest ranking, the best polytechnic in Nigeria is Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) follow by Federal Polytechnic Ilaro which came second, and Lagos State Polytechnic which came third. Temple Gate Polytechnic came last in the ranking. Fifty Polytechnics featured in the recent ranking of all the institutions in Nigeria.

Yabatech surfacing as the best polytechnics implies that the quality of published research works from the school is high when compare to other Polytechnics i.e. the school research output and informal scholarly communication is high.
