Gombe State University postgraduate Admission Requirements
Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting & Finance
- Graduate of GSU or any other recognized University
- Higher National Diploma (HND) holders with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant discipline
- Holders of other professional qualifications which may be acceptable to the University Senate
M.Sc Accounting
- Graduate of GSU in Accounting or any other recognized University with a minimum of Second Class Honours Lower Division
- Holders of relevant qualification, B.Ed Accounting with a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting and Finance from a recognized University
- Candidates with Third Class Honours degree may be eligible to apply with a relevant Postgraduate Diploma with an Upper Credit
Postgraduate Diploma in Management
- Graduate of GSU or any other recognized University
- Higher National Diploma (HND) holders with a minimum of Lower Credit in relevant discipline
- Holders of other professional qualifications which may be acceptable to the University Senate
Master in Business Administration (MBA)
- A Bachelor’s degree holder in relevant discipline from Gombe State University or any recognized University with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division
- Holders of Third Class Honours degree; Higher National Diploma (HND) with a Postgraduate Diploma in relevant discipline
M.Sc Business Administration
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration from GSU or any recognized University with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division
- Applicant with a good Second Class Lower Division in relevant field of study other than Business Administration but possess a Postgraduate Diploma or HND in any related field of Administration at Upper Credit level from Gombe State University or any recognized University may be considered
M.A History
- Candidates must possess at least Second Class Lower Division Honours degree in History from Gombe State University or any recognized University
- Candidates with good Second Class Lower Division Honours degree in History Education from Gombe State University or any other recognized University may be considered
Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGDPA)
- Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent qualification from a recognized University
Master of Public Administration (MPA)
- A degree in Public Administration from Gombe State University or any recognized University with minimum of Second Class Lower Division
- Applicant with Bachelor’s degree, HND with a Postgraduate Diploma at Credit Level
- Applicant with a Postgraduate Diploma in relevant field may be considered M.Sc Public Administration
- Applicant should possess a degree in Public Administration, Political Science and International Relation from Gombe State University or any other recognized University with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division
Postgraduate Diploma in Chemistry
- The minimum qualification is Third Class Honours degree in Chemistry, Chemistry Education, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or a Pass at Credit Level at HND in Science Laboratory Technology or any other equivalent qualification approved by the Senate of the Gombe State University
M.Sc Organic/Inorganic Chemistry
- Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from GSU or any other recognized University with a minimum of Second Class Lower Honours degree
- Candidates with good Second Class Honours B.Sc (Ed) Chemistry may be considered but would be required to take Undergraduate Courses they may be deficient
- Candidates with Third Class Honours degree in Chemistry or B.Sc (Ed) Chemistry or HND and PGD in Chemistry may also be considered
M.Sc Environmental Biology
- Applicant should possess a minimum of Second Class Lower degree in Biology or any related field from Gombe State University or any other recognized University
M.Sc Applied Parasitology & Entomology
- Candidate should possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Division degree in Zoology, or related field from Gombe State University or any recognized University
M.Sc Hydrobiology & Fisheries
- Applicant should possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Division degree in Biology, or related field from Gombe State University or any recognized University
M.Sc Botany (Ecology)
- Candidate should possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Division degree in Botany, or related field from GSU or any recognized University
M.Sc Botany (Plant Physiology)
- Candidate should possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Division degree in Botany, or related field from Gombe State University or any recognized University
M.Sc Physics
- Candidate should possess a minimum of Second Class Lower Honours degree in Physics or good B.Sc (Ed) Physics with Second Class Lower Division from Gombe State University or any recognized University
M.Ed Guidance & Counseling
- Applicants with Bachelors Degree in Education obtained at not less than Second Class Lower Division from Gombe State University or any other recognized University
- Candidates with a Bachelor degree plus PGDE may be considered
- Applicants with a Third Class Honours degree in Education with a minimum of Five years Teaching Experience
- Higher National Diploma (HND) holders may be considered provided that such applicant possess Postgraduate Diploma in Education obtained at not less than credit level
M.Ed Educational Psychology
- Applicants with Bachelor’s Degree Honours in Education obtained at not less than Second Class Lower Division from Gombe State University or any other recognized University
- Higher National Diploma (HND) holder may be considered provided that such applicants possess Postgraduate Diploma in Education obtained at not less than credit level
Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
- To be considered for admission all prospective candidates must have a minimum of a Bachelor degree or HND Upper Credit in their Teaching subject
M.Ed Science Education
- Possession of a Bachelor Honours Degree (B.Sc (Ed.), B.Ed or equivalent) in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography and Integrated Science, obtained at not less than Second Class Lower Division from Gombe State University or any other recognized University.
- Possession of a Bachelor Honours Degree (B.Sc or equivalent) in relevant science disciplines provided that the degree is obtained at not less than Second Class Lower Division from Gombe State University or any other recognized University. In addition, candidates must possess PGDE at not less than credit level obtained from Gombe State University or any other recognized Institution.
- HND Holders in relevant fields and not below credit level may be considered, provided that such applicants possess PGDE, obtained at not less than credit level from Gombe State University or any other recognized Institution.
- Applicant with Third Class B.Sc (Ed), B.Ed and B.Sc Honours Degree or equivalent in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography and Integrated Science and possess PGDE not below credit level from Gombe State University or any other recognized Institution, may be considered, provided that such candidates have acquired not less than five (5) years post qualification experience
Method of Application For Gombe State University postgraduate admission
Interested candidates for all the School of Postgraduate Studies Programmes should pay the sum of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000.00) via Gombe State University Remita Platform and submit the teller to Bursary Department, collect receipt and proceed to School of Postgraduate Studies for collection of the form(s).
