University of Africa, at Toru-Orua (UAT) is one of Africa’s youngest institutions; it is a state university in Bayelsa with a strong focus on “internationalization. This school admitted her first undergraduate students in 2017.
UAT has four faculties which are Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Arts and Education, Faculty of Science, and Faculty of Social and Management Sciences.

Admission Requirements
To gain admission to study any course at the University of Africa, a candidate must have five O’level and you must have written UTME meeting the school cut-off mark.

English
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English Language and Literature in English
Linguistics and Nigerian Languages
5-credit level passes in the SSCE/NECO/ GCE (O/L) examinations including English Language and/or Nigerian languages. b. Five credits at Senior Secondary School Certificate Level or equivalent, credit in a Language other than English will be an advantage.
History and International Relations
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English Language, History or Government.
Theater Arts
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English language
Educational Management
Five credits passes in SSCE (or its equivalent) including English Language, relevant subject of specialization and three other Arts subject.
Guidance and Counselling
Five credits passes in SSCE (or its equivalent) including English Language, relevant subject of specialization and three other Arts subject.
For Faculty of Science
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Economics
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics, one science subject and any one from Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography and Statistics.
Political Science
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics, one science subject plus any one from Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Govt. Geography and Statistics.
Mass Communication, Information Science and Media Studies
Five Credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English Language, one Science subject, Mathematics and Literature in English.
Business Administration
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics, one science subject plus any one from Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography and Statistics.
Banking and Finance
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) in English, Mathematics, Economics, one science subject plus any one from Accounting, Business Methods, Commerce, Government, Geography and Statistics.
Agriculture – Agricultural Economics, Animal Production and Health, Crop, Soil & Pest Management
Five credits at SSCE (or its equivalent) including English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science.
