NPMCN Fellowship Examinations 2022 Registration & Date

The National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria announces the commencement of online registration for the March/ April/ May 2022 Fellowship Examinations.

Applicants are advised to visit www.npmcn.edu.ng/examination/ for necessary information and eligibility criteria for the examination and also to familiarize themselves with the requirements of their respective faculties for entry to sit for the examinations.

NO REFUND POLICY: College has adopted a No refund policy. Candidates have responsibilities of checking that their documents are in order before applying for examination and ensuring they make payment for the appropriate application on the portal.

The submission of incomplete application shall lead to disqualification and college shall not enter into any correspondence with such applicants.

ATTESTATION/RECOMMENDATION OF CANDIDATES: Only Fellows who are in good standing with the College are eligible to attest to applications and recommend candidates for college examinations.

Registration closes on Friday, January 31, 2022. Late registration for primary attracts twenty thousand naira only and ends on March 4 2022. No late registration part 1 and part 11 applications

The senate decision designating clinical skills courses (ATLS/ACLS) as prerequisite for the fellowship examination from 2022 will not be enforced in the March/April/May 2022 fellowship examination. Associate fellows will be allowed to register and sit for the examination even if they have not completed the courses.

The National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria has three examination conducted every year which includes Primary, Part I, and Part II fellowship.

NPMCN Primary Fellowship Examination

This is a screening examination for doctors desiring to enroll into a residency programme. It is the first postgraduate examination after internship. The objective of this examination is to test Basic Science knowledge as an indication of the Candidate’s readiness for postgraduate training in relevant Faculty.

The Primary Fellowship Examination will hold in all Faculties in March 2021 in the ten (10) accredited CBT centres in Abuja, Benin, Calabar, Enugu, Ile-Ife, Ilorin, Jos, Kano, Lagos and Owerri, addresses are available at portal : www.npmcn.edu.ng/examination/examination-centres/

Examination Fees: Seventy-Five thousand naira (N75,000.00) only for all Faculties.

Basic requirements are:

  • Passport Photograph (Colour) in JPEG Format taken in the last six (6) months in front of a plain white or off-white background and in full-face view directly facing the camera
  • Basic Medical or Dental Degree Certificate (To be uploaded in PDF Single Page)
  • NYSC Discharge or Exemption from NYSC Certificate/Letter (To be uploaded in PDF Single Page) Not Mandatory
  • MDCN Provisional Registration Certificate (To be uploaded in PDF Single Page)
  • MDCN FULL Registration Certificate/Receipt of Payment for MDCN FULL Registration Certificate (To be uploaded in PDF Single Page ) Not Mandatory
  • Current Annual Practicing License/Receipt (To be uploaded in PDF Single Page )
  • NPMCN Fellow’s Recommendation Form (To be uploaded in PDF Single Page)
  • Evidence of change of name (To be uploaded in PDF Multiple Pages [At least four (4) Pages [To include Application letter for change of name, Marriage certificate, Sworn Affidavit and Newspaper Advert])
  • Candidate Indemnity and Declaration Form (To be uploaded in PDF Single Page)
  • NYSC Discharge Certificate is not a Mandatory requirement for Eligibility for the Primary Examination

NPMCN Part I Fellowship Examination

Candidates are qualified to sit for the Part 1 Fellowship Examination at the end of the first 24 to 36 months of Residency training (Junior Residency). This examination is administered to test cognitive knowledge and basic professional skills in the relevant discipline represented by each Faculty.

The format for this examination varies from Faculty to Faculty and details are provided in each Faculty’s Handbook.

The Part I Screening Examination will hold in March 2022 in the ten (10) accredited CBT centres in Abuja, Benin, Calabar, Enugu, Ile-Ife, Ilorin, Jos, Kano, Lagos and Owerri. Addresses are available at portal: www.npmcn.edu.ng/examination/examination-centres/ only successful candidates in the screening examination will be invited for the concluding part of the examination consisting of written, clinical/practical and orals in April/May 2022.

Part II Fellowship Examination

Part II Fellowship Examinations in all Faculties will hold in April/May 2022 in the usual format.

Candidates are qualified to sit for Part 2 Fellowship Examination after passing Part 1 and a further 24 to 48 months of Residency Training (Senior Residency) with considerable responsibility for professional judgement and problem solving. It aims to test the candidates’ readiness for the responsibilities of leadership in the specialty. Those who pass are eligible to be appointed as Consultants.

The format for this examination varies from Faculty to Faculty and details are provided in each Faculty’s Handbook.

  • Fresh candidates: Click on sign-up, fill in the required information and submit, the system will send confirmation email containing default login details to your mail follow the instructions in the mail to activate your account and login to register and make payment for the examination.
  • Returning candidates: login with your login details
  • Click on the part of the examination to proceed registration and payment for the examination

About National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria

The National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) was established by the National Postgraduate Medical College Decree  No. 67 of 24th September,1979, now Cap N59 Laws of the Federation 2004, as is a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal. It was set up as the the tertiary institution at the apex of Medical Education in Nigeria and its main function is to produce specialists in all branches of Medicine and Dentistry.
