List Of Undergraduate Scholarships in Nigeria 2024/2025

There are undergraduate scholarships in Nigeria that are free scholarships and at no cost to apply. You don’t have to pay a dime and it covers most of your undergraduate expenses and that is why it is called free scholarships.

However, these University scholarships have eligibility criteria you must satisfy for you to be qualified for the scholarships.

Furthermore, this Undergraduate scholarships come out sometimes around May, August, September, and November every year.

i) SHELL SPDC JV Undergraduate University Scholarships Award

This is a merit-based scholarship and it is in two categories – the National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award.

  1. National Merit Award (NM) Open to all Nigerians.
  2. Areas of Operation Merit Award For Nigerians who are indigenes of SPDC’s operational area in Abia, Bayelsa, Delta, Imo and Rivers States

ii) NNPC/TOTAL Undergraduate University Scholarships

Annually, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), and Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria (TUCN): Total Exploration & Production Nigeria Limited (Total E&P Nig Ltd) and Total Upstream Nigeria Limited (TUPNI), together with their venture partners, award scholarships to deserving Nigerian students in the tertiary institutions in the country.

This university scholarship is for a Registered FULL TIME undergraduate in a recognized Nigerian University. And you must be a certified 100 or 200 level students at the time of application.

iii) NNPC/SNEPCo National Undergraduate University Scholarships

The programme aims to promote academic excellence and improve the skills of young Nigerian. It provides yearly grant to the successful applicant from their second year (200 level) to the completion of their degree programme.

The worth of the scholarship is 200,000 Nigerian Naira.

iv) Jim OVia Scholarship

This scholarship is fully funded by Mr. Jim Ovia to provide financial aid to outstanding Nigeria youths. The scholarship was previously known as the MUSTE scholarship. Eligible awardees are supported for their undergraduate and graduate study for the duration of their program and it includes tuition and maintenance allowances.

The worth of the scholarship is 150,000 Nigerian Naira.

v) NNPC/CHEVRON Undergraduate University scholarships

This scholarship is for second year (200 level) degree students of the under-listed courses in Nigerian Universities:

Accountancy, Agricultural Engineering/Agricultural Science, Architecture, Business Administration/Economics, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science/Computer, Engineering/System Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Environmental Studies/Surveying
Geology/Geophysics, Law, Mass Communication/Journalism, Mechanical/Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Human Medicine/Dentistry/Pharmacy, Petroleum Engineering.

vi) NNPC/ADDAX Scholarship

NNPC in collaboration with ADDAX is offers Scholarships to students (100L) in Nigeria Tertiary Institution, under the National Merit Scholarship Awards Scheme.

Eligibility criteria

  1. i) Must be a Nigerian.
  2. ii) Must be a registered, full time 100 level undergraduate in any Nigerian Tertiary Institution.

iii) Must have 5 ’0′ level credit passes in one sitting including English Language  and mathematics

vii) NLNG Undergraduate University Scholarships Awards

The value of the scholarship has been reviewed upward from N100, 000 to N300, 000 per awardee for an academic year and it runs throughout the duration of the student’s course.

viii) MTN Foundation Science & Technology Scholarship

The MTN Foundation Science & Technology Scholarship scheme seeks to attract high performing full time second year students studying in public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics and colleges of education) in Nigeria.

The scholarship is renewed every year until graduation for existing awardees provided they have maintained a minimum CGPA of 3.5 or its equivalent (second class upper/upper credit) while new applications, when advertised, are welcome from full time students in their second year of study (200 level).

ix) DJ Cares University Scholarships

The scholarship are in two categories:

Game Changer Scholar for consistently diligent students with 2nd Class Upper Division or its equivalent each semester since University enrollment.

Game Reformer Scholar who has achieved significant improvement in GPA, attitude & outlook since enrollment in the University demonstrated by a GPA point improvement of at least 2.0 GPA, sustained over at least 2 consecutive semesters.
