Narratives On Apostle Ayo Babalola Death On 26 July 1959

Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola founded Christ Apostolic Church (C.A.C) alongside Pastors J.B. Akinyele and D.O. Odubanjo. Before his death, he was a notable minister of God with spiritual gifts of healing and working miracles. He was born on April 25, 1904, and died on July 26, 1959.

CAC is one of the churches in Nigeria that awaken the apostolic teachings and faith in the country. There, you hear “igbagbo lai lo ogun,” meaning applying faith that heals without drugs. The era of Baba Babalola ushered in a great revival in the church in Nigeria. It is a common saying in Nigerian churches that “Olorun 1930” still lives. These are some of the notable things you hear about him.

Although he lived shortly (55 years), he made a great impact in life and will forever be remembered for the signs and wonders God did through him.

To give my reader quality information, I contacted Prophet I.O. OGEDEGBE, the original author of this piece.

He said, “I read the story told by the late Prophet Samson Oladeji Akande (also known as Baba Abiye at Ede), in whose bedroom Apostle Babalola slept in the Lord on Sunday, July 26, 1959, about 58 years ago. To preserve the valuable information in that story as told by Baba Abiye, I had to republish the article that would be useful to so many people in the future, giving credit to him as the source.”

The article below was the summary of the narrative of Prophet I.O. OGEDEGBE on how Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola died. I believe the narrative will hint at how the giant in the Lord was called to glory.

Summary

Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola passed away on Sunday, July 26, 1959, without showing any signs of illness. He had been actively engaged in ministry meetings and prayer sessions until his final moments. Two days before his passing, which happened to be July 24, 1959, he was in Ibadan for a council meeting and later traveled to Ede on July 25, 1959, and arrived there around 6:30 pm, where he stayed at a Baba Abiye’s house. Despite his fatigue, he continued to minister and pray for others.

In the early hours of July 26, around 4:00 am, Apostle Babalola woke up and had his morning routine (bath, took tea, and had morning meditation). Around 6:00 am, Baba Abiye went to meet him in the bedroom, and it was there where he spoke about an upcoming convention in his hometown. Later, he recounted his ministry journey to us (baba Babajide was there) and prayed with us.

Around 5:00 pm on Sunday, while on his bed, although others in the house had gone to church for evening service, he suddenly breathed heavily thrice, saying after, “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” Although efforts were made to revive him by his personal attendants (Michael and Samuel), who ran to call me to his bedside before he gave up the ghost. After all the effort, it was revealed spiritually that the host of heaven had welcomed him into heaven. His body was then transported to Efon Alaaye by church leaders and elders for burial.
